Angels Game

Last night we were excited to go to the Angels game, all five of us. First, we load the diaper bag: bottles, snacks, pacifiers, spare clothes, snacks, pajamas, a jacket (just in case), snacks, water bottles, oh, and did I mention snacks? And that was just for Sarah! Then we got Caleb's glove, in case an Angel tossed him a ball, Emma's sunglasses (though the game started at 7:05), Sarah's pink umbrella stroller, and the tickets. Then we park way across the street (half-price parking) and begin our trek to the stadium. This is the fun part!

The game started out exciting, by the 2nd inning it was tied, 1-1. Then things took a turn for the worse. By the 5th, the score was 5-2. Caleb, never losing hope, realized that all they needed was "one grand slam" to take the lead. Wishful thinking. About the 6th inning (9:20) Sarah was deciding she was tired, and though she didn't cry, she was getting pretty restless. And then it happened: 9 runs by the A's in the 7th inning. We were done, it was time to go home. When your team is losing 14-2, there's really no point in staying (especially with a tired clan!) So we packed up our stuff, made one last trip to the bathroom, and began our hike back to the car. Amazingly, Sarah stayed awake the entire time! Caleb was practicing his math skills, thinking that if they hit one grand slam, then another, then another, they just might win (and we would miss it!). But, alas, that did not happen (and even if it would have, they still would have needed one more).

So goes our evening. We've got tickets for Friday night, too. Let's hope the score is 14-2 again, but this time in favor of the Angels! Now that will be a reason to celebrate!

Well, sounds like a lot of work getting ready for that game. I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Cute pictures of the kids and good family picture too.
